We are not here to improve ourselves. We are here to guide one another.

Modern life is caught in a loop. We spend our days chasing "Self-Improvement"—reading books, buying gear, and optimizing our routines—only to realize we are more isolated than ever.

At Guide School, we recognize that true growth does not happen in a vacuum. It happens in the messy, loud, and beautiful collision of human beings.

The Three States of Human Connection

We view the human condition through three distinct states. We believe that to be a true guide—in the backcountry and in life—you must understand how to navigate them all:

• The Devil State: This is the grit of the workplace, the comedy of the struggle, and the essential "giving each other a hard time." It is the laughter that breaks the tension when a climb feels impossible. It is the friction that prevents the flow of ideas from getting stuck. We don't fear the Devil State; we master it.
• The Human State: This is the realm of the individual. It is the reading, the meditating, the training, and the playing with our "toys"—the e-bikes, the drones, and the climbing gear. It is a necessary foundation, but it is incomplete. It is inward-looking and ultimately, a closed loop.
• The Guiding State: This is our destination. It is the act of looking outward. By listening deeply, learning the stories of others, and understanding their struggles, we stop concentrating on ourselves and start building trust. This is where we gain the love, confidence, and connection that the "self-improvement" industry can never sell you.

Our Method

We combine the ancient with the modern. We use the silence of the Zion backcountry, the discipline of yoga, and the precision of modern technology—EUCs, drones, and technical climbing—not as ends in themselves, but as tools to peel back the layers of the human condition.

We teach you to move faster through the landscape, so you can spend more time sitting with the people who inhabit it.
