Mental Balance-Raja Yoga

This is the yoga of the mind. In particular the mastery of the mind.  There are three purposes of the mind: to observe, to understand and to act wisely. Learning what each of these purposes are and learning how to focus on each when the time is right will dramatically improve the quality of life for you and for those around you.  Most humans let their mind be their master when in fact it would be a better servant by only letting their mind try to find understanding from within, rather than first observing the world. You can see it in the inanimate star of people in traffic jams.

Patiently Observing your world will invovle your sense of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and feeling. You can read books, experience art, listen to music, scroll through social media, and even observe a bird song in the breeze of nature, and this will all be a very critical component of gathering knowledge for life. What most people do is that they only observe for a short amount of time and they quickly judge. This is called prejudgement and will be detrimental in Observing Clearly what is happening before us.

When we have gathered a collection of Observations. Some of these Observations will be similar to each other and others will be different. And what happens here is we will find patterns in the Observations. Extending these patterns is what will lead to our understanding or our hypothosis of how things world in the world.

When we apply this understanding from Patient Observation in our lives, this is called wisdom.

Generally most of life will need Patient Observation.
